It has been about 23 hours since the initial activation and the status of the phones has yet to change. iConectiv is the custodian of all the ported telephone numbers for North America and Interactive. The second call ended with my phone getting disconnected after being put on hold. To allow calling organizations to identify wireless telephones and comply with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the industry makes the ports from Landline-to-Wireless carriers and Wireless-to-Landline carriers available for distribution. I haven't noticed any changes after this. The first call ended with the representative performing a "refresh" where they asked me to turn off my 6P and remove the sim card, the rep did something on their end, then asked me to turn the phone back on with the sim card reinserted. I have called customer service twice now and both times they have said the port was completed successfully. I have tried disabling iMessage on the iPhone, but that doesn't make a difference. I can send texts from the 6P, but the recipient never receives them. Also, all text messages from iPhone and non-iPhone owners will only go to the iPhone instead of the 6P. I can make calls from the iPhone, but not receive any (those go to the 6P instead). However, the iPhone still retains the number ported to the 6P and is fully functioning. I can make and receive calls from the 6P and data services work. I brought the phone to a store where they activated it and ported the number to the 6P. I originally had an iPhone 4S on Virgin Mobile, but purchased a Nexus 6P and decided to make the jump to Metro PCS.
